摘要: Nitrogen (N) transformation is largely contingent on the activity of enzymes encoded by crucial microbial Ncycling genes. To investigate the impact of different tillage practices on soil chiA and aprA genes and nitrogen utilization efficiency (NUtE) under parallel nitrogen application, a 5-year (2017 and 2021) in-situ experiments was conducted in the oasis zone of Northwest China. Four tillage treatments (NT, no-tillage; MT, minimal-tillage; ST, sub-tillage; FT, fold-tillage) with three replications were employed in a randomized complete block design. We assessed soil N-related chemical properties and functional gene community composition and performed regression analyses to explore the relationship between functional genes and N utilization and uptake. Principal Coordinate Analysis (PCoA) showed the significant effects of tillage on soil microorganisms. Tillage affects the changes of nitrogen indicators, which in turn correlate with chiA and aprA. The chiA was significantly negatively correlated with nitrogen uptake efficiency (NUpE) (p = 0.03) and significantly positively correlated with NUtE (p = 0.01). The aprA exhibited significantly negative correlations with changes in soil dissolved organic nitrogen (DON) (p = 0.02) and soil urease activity (URE) (p = 0.05), and significantly positive correlations with NUpE (p = 0.01) and yield (Y) (p = 0.008). These findings suggest that tillage affects aprA and chiA communities and their relative abundances. Additionally, changes in functional genes impact nitrogen conversion and plant selectivity in nitrogen uptake under parallel nitrogen application conditions.
